At Inglewood Laser and Aesthetics Plus, the team uses the MedLite C6 laser for safe and effective tattoo removal for all skin types. Injecting colored ink into the top layers of your skin creates a tattoo. The ink is meant to be permanent, but can be removed with the help of a pulse-laser.
The light from the MedLite C6 laser breaks apart the ink particles embedded in the skin. Once the ink is broken apart, white blood cells in your body attack the ink, clearing the skin of ink debris. With the ink gone, the skin becomes a blank canvas once again.
All skin types benefit from tattoo removal. The MedLite C6 laser can remove older tattoos, amateur tattoos, large and small tattoos in any color. Problematic colors of the past such as blue, green, and glow-in-the-dark are no longer an issue with the MedLite C6 laser.
Tattoo removal is available for any area of your body. Tattoos closer to your heart tend to fade faster because they receive more blood circulation, whereas a tattoo on your ankle, wrist, arm, or leg will take longer.
The experts at Inglewood Laser and Aesthetics Plus will tell you the approximate number of sessions needed for total removal of your tattoo.
Everyone has a different pain tolerance. The tattoo removal process is not pain-free, but we do offer pain mitigation options such as lidocaine topicals, cool air and/or nitronox gas. The laser pulses light beams at the ink to break the pigments apart. While some discomfort is expected, the caring team at Inglewood Laser and Aesthetics Plus will make you feel as comfortable as possible.
A laser tattoo removal session can last between 1 to 5 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo being removed and tolerance to the procedure. The amount of treatments you’ll require depends on the size, color and age of your tattoo.
Dark colors are more easily removed and with fewer treatments. Lighter colors reflect more light, so the ink will take longer to remove. Glow-in-the-dark ink is considered the most difficult to remove.
A minimum of six weeks between sessions is typically considered average. Removing any tattoo is a long process and will require more than one visit.
Mild to moderate discomfort is expected from the pulse laser. The skin can be itchy or have general soreness after treatment, however, over-the-counter pain relievers can be used. Some skin types may scar more easily, but your physician assistant at Inglewood Laser and Aesthetics Plus will give you post-treatment care instructions to help minimize scarring. In some cases, hair on the treated part of the body may not grow back.
