Generally raised and usually soft to the touch. They may be darker than or the same color as the surrounding skin. The may have a smooth or rough surface.
Dermal moles are common on the face, especially around the nose. They are occasionally hairy, and some people consider them to be unsightly.
DPN's are benign hyperpigmented or skin-colored lesions that commonly develop on the face and neck beginning in adolescence. Most commonly affecting people of African and Asian descent.
Keloid growth might be triggered by any sort of skin injury — an insect bite, acne, an injection, body piercing, burns, hair removal, and even minor scratches and bumps. The goal of treatment is to flatten, soften, or shrink the keloid. Keloids can be hard to get rid of. Sometimes they return after treatment. A combination of treatments may be needed for the best results.
Skin tags occur when extra cells grow in the top layers of the skin. They tend to develop when the skin rubs against itself, so are more common in people who are overweight and therefore have folds of skin. They grow both in men and women and are more common in older people and people living with type 2 diabetes.
The majority of lesions are numbed with lidocaine or topical anesthetic. This will render your procedure almost pain free.
Size, location and type of procedure performed will often determine healing time. Bleeding should be resolved before you leave the office. If swelling is present after procedure, it should resolve within 2-3 days. Complete healing is expected in 1-2 weeks. DPN recovery may take a bit longer, applying triple antibiotic ointment will expedite the process slightly.
It is possible to experiencing some scarring after lesion removal. However, our intent is to remove every lesion with minimal residual markings. It may take 1-2 months with proper care for skin color to return in the area where lesions were removed.
Keloids have the propensity to regrow and, in some cases, will grow back larger than the original size if not treated ASAP. Early treatment can help minimize the growth of a new keloid or the continued growth of older keloids. Early treatment for DPN is absolutely necessary in order to stop the growth of multiples over time. Inglewood Laser and Aesthetics Plus has the solution to get ahead of it!
